Credit goes to WWE for taking Asuka’s undefeated streak and merging it with an ongoing storyline: Nia Jax could get added to the Raw Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania if she defeats Asuka at Elimination Chamber.

That win would end the Empress of Tomorrow’s two-and-a-half-year undefeated streak in WWE, plus it would turn her potential title match into a triple threat. So with a lot on the line, Nia isn’t taking anything for granted, and on Monday, she attacked Asuka while she did an in-ring interview.

Asuka caught her coming in, but Jax overpowered her and dropped the Royal Rumble winner, hitting three legdrops on her to soften her up for Sunday.

If anything, it was a simple but effective way of keeping the match in focus and reminding people of the stakes involved.
