Although Raw announcers, authority figures and women’s wrestlers had been resigned to the fact that Asuka would challenge Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania, no one stopped to check in with the Royal Rumble match winner herself.

Asuka made her intentions clear Sunday night, coming out after the end of the SmackDown Women’s Championship match to officially challenge Charlotte Flair for the title at WrestleMania. The move sets up what amounts to a dream match of top-level female competitors at the biggest event of the year.

If given some time, this has the potential to be a show-stealer. Asuka is tremendous in the ring and elevates her game more with better competition. Charlotte is a prodigy who keeps improving and can give the Empress of Tomorrow a run for her money. Pay attention to this one.
