5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Raw (June 8)

3. Where’s The Tag Title Match?

So after five weeks of friendly competition ended in a tie with Monday’s decathlon split, the natural progression would be for the Street Profits and Viking Raiders to face off for the Raw Tag Team Championship at Backlash, right?

The Profits have not defended their tag titles in more than two months and had one match in the past six weeks. Instead, they’ve engaged in this weekly battle outside the ring with a team they’ve been unable to beat inside the ring, the Viking Raiders.

All of that should have culminated in a tag title match on a decent stage, say, a PPV. But with Backlash’s rundown not including a Raw tag title match, it leaves you to wonder what WWE is waiting for. Are they going to air it on Raw next week? Or are they waiting for a live audience?

Because there’s really no point to continuing this friendly competition with no payoff in sight.
