5 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Survivor Series 2016
3. Kane Wins… Why?
During the Kane/Luke Harper match, the announcers spent a great deal of time talking up how agile Harper was and how he reminded them of Bruiser Brody. They marveled at his athleticism as he hit a suicide dive, slingshot senton and running dropkick.
And then he ate a chokeslam to fall to 49-year-old Kane.
Look, Kane deserves all the respect in the world for his contributions to WWE for the past 20 years. And he shouldn’t be losing every match on his way out the door. But – and this is a constant gripe among fans – you’re never going to make new stars if you’re constantly jobbing out younger wrestlers to aging superstars.
Harper is 13 years younger than Kane. He could easily play the role of a big, agile and dangerous wrestler, much like Kane did 15 years ago. But if he’s going to keep losing matches like this for no discernable reason, then he’ll simply remain stuck in neutral.
