5 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Raw (May 4)

4. ‘I’m Not A Zombie!’

Well, we all had to wonder how WWE was going to have AJ Styles address being “buried alive” in the Boneyard match against Undertaker at WrestleMania 36.

And having him just blurt out that he wasn’t a zombie or ghost was probably the best way to brush it off. Maybe if WWE hadn’t released Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows, they could have been there to say they unearthed AJ, but such is life.

Styles did a nice job of doing the heel brush off – but in a semi-believable way – when he noted that he “got buried, so what?” AJ observed that there were no rules in the Boneyard match, so he didn’t lose anything. It was a nice, simple way for the heel to get past that match and then turn his attention to Money in the Bank, where he suggested that he could throw Rey Mysterio or Aleister Black off the roof of WWE HQ, tipping to another possible cinematic stunt in that match.

Regardless, it’s good to have AJ back on a show that has seen its roster gutted by firings and absences.
