It’s interesting to see how WWE treats holidays sometimes, more from a sick, morbid curiosity than anything else. One staple WWE loves to fall back on is having some of its lesser stars dress up in costumes during these episodes, and Monday was no different.

However, it was odd to see which wrestlers partook in wearing costumes on the July 4th Raw. On one hand, you had Titus O’Neil dressed as an Uncle Sam type, wrestling for the United States Championship in red-and-white-striped shorts. But you also had the Social Outcasts decked out in colonial gear, portraying Minute Men. They were quickly dispatched by Enzo & Big Cass in a matter of minutes.

It’s strange that heels and faces both wore “patriotic” garb in the first two matches, with both losing cleanly. Maybe the message is that the U.S.A. is great, but not so if you’re wearing a silly costume.
