5 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Stomping Grounds

7. Evans Still Not Ready

There’s still a good chance that Lacey Evans ends up being a perfectly credible champion in WWE. It’s still early for the former Marine.

But once again on Sunday, Evans looked a little out of sorts on PPV, messing up a couple spots and flailing around. Most notably, she was completely out of position for a Becky Lynch springboard kick in the corner, forcing the champ to pretend she slipped and repeat the spot. Becky looked disgusted after that, and the fans started chanting, “Lacey sucks!” and “You can’t wrestle!”

That’s a bit harsh, but it’s worth noting that Naomi, Natalya and Sarah Logan weren’t doing anything Sunday night, and Alexa Bliss – a Raw competitor – was battling for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Maybe if Evans didn’t spend months literally doing nothing beyond strutting up and down the entranceway, she’d be in a better position as an in-ring performer.
