5 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Stomping Grounds

5. Needs More Shane

What in the fresh hell was that?

You had to assume that Shane McMahon was going to get involved in the Drew McIntyre/Roman Reigns match. But no one could have expected the extent to which McMahon would interject himself into the bout.

Shane interfered liberally throughout the match, pulling the referee out after a spear and nailing a coast-to-coast missile dropkick on Reigns – for a 2-count. Then Shane tried to interfere again, but Roman sidestepped and tossed him, then casually speared McIntyre for the win.

This made McIntyre look like a failed McMahon flunky rather than the Scottish Psychopath (or whatever they’re calling him today). If this was going to be the outcome, they should have kept Elias in this role. It made it look like Drew couldn’t get the job done even with a handicap match.

And of course, this meant more Shane, because that’s what this PPV really needed.
