When John Cena had the United States Championship Open Challenge, he faced a huge variety of challengers, defending the title for months on a weekly basis.

Seth Rollins has occasionally done the same with his Intercontinental Championship, but his pool of opponents must be smaller, as he faced a man he’s battled for the title for six times now in about five months, Dolph Ziggler.

Ziggler beat Rollins in an open challenge in June, only for Rollins to finally win it back in August. In addition to those five title bouts, Ziggler beat Rollins in the semi-finals of the WWE World Cup tournament earlier this month.

That’s a lot of one-on-one matches in a short span that ignores a handful of tag team matches. Now, that’s not to say that their matches are boring by any stretch, but we’ve seen this match to death this summer and fall, so did we really need to see it again?
