5 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Fastlane 2017

1. Horrid PPV, Top To Bottom

Remove the cruiserweights from Fastlane and you might have the worst WWE PPV in recent memory. It was that bad of an event.

A main event that lasted less than 30 seconds. A women’s title match that ended with illogical interference and meaninglessly ended a PPV win streak. A top guy who didn’t need the rub ended a monster’s undefeated streak. Two thrown-together, meaningless matches adding 20 minutes to the PPV. Stupid talking segments that literally added nothing to the event except time-padding. And of course, Byron Saxton.

This was a godawful evening of “wrestling.” WWE would have been better off canceling Fastlane and just developing the various storylines during the last four episodes of Raw instead.

Seriously, there often is room for disagreement and a difference of opinion about the finer points of a PPV or episode of Raw, but this isn’t even close. If you thought this was a good PPV, then you should seriously turn on the WWE Network and start watching WrestleMania X-Seven, Money in the Bank 2011, WrestleMania XIX and Backlash 2000 now to get some perspective.
