Remember how for the past few years, fans and critics rode Roman Reigns hard, as they bemoaned that he was being pushed down our throats – and yet he receive repeated stop-and-start pushes?

Friday’s match against Shane McMahon theoretically should have been a blow-off match, with Roman decimating the 50-year-old executive. After all, the match wasn’t a no-DQ bout, limiting Drew McIntyre’s interference to when the referee was distracted.

Instead, Reigns had to sell Shane’s punches and elbows, and his spear and triangle. Shane got to kick out of a powerbomb and Superman Punch. And then McIntyre’s Claymore gave Shane the win.

Because the feud. Must. Continue.

If you want a Shane/Roman feud to last through to SummerSlam, there are ways to do it and make it entertaining and believable. This wasn’t it.
