5 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Dec 22)

5 DOWNS€

5. Total Divas Is Totally Ruining Women€™s Wrestling

Total Divas is responsible to the degradation of women€™s wrestling in WWE. Thanks to this €œreality€ television program, several talented female wrestlers have been lumped in with several Divas and forced to act out semi-scripted reality television, not just on the E! Network, but on Raw as well. This has led to Total Divas storylines bleeding over into Raw, which turns matches into simple angle advancement, not competition. And it turns serious performers into female stereotypes. We now have two angles involving Total Divas stars who are having marital problems being woven into Raw angles (Naomi with Jimmy Uso and Natalya with Tyson Kidd). Monday, the announcers were all too happy to play up that there€™s trouble because Tyson checked on Nikki Bella (hey, wonder if she€™s dating a wrestler on the roster?) after a match last week. Then they completely missed the fact that Kidd was wearing Bella€™s €œFearless€ hat throughout the match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVzDT5QwwHk Natalya is one of the most talented women in WWE, and Naomi deserves an opportunity to put her athleticism to the test in the ring. Instead, they are helping to remind the 10 viewers who watch both Raw and Total Divas to tune in to the E! Network.
