5 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 17th)

5. *Now* We Have A Long Memory?
One of the things that wrestling fans accept is that a lot of things that happen in the weeks, months and years prior are no longer relevant to a storyline. This is necessary in an era where you have people turning face and heel and you end up with former enemies becoming partners. You cant be the type who yells about inconsistencies in who hates who from six months ago or youll drive yourself crazy. Which is why Stephanie calling up video from more than a year ago when Ryback first turned heel and challenged John Cena for the WWE Championship was so odd. The footage showed Cena mocking and insulting Ryback, serving as a backdrop for Stephanie telling the Big Guy that he cant trust Cena. Since when has year-old footage been used to preserve internal consistency? This is a group of writers who cant be consistent with storylines from week to week, let alone over the course of several months. http://youtu.be/9ZGwxww7VOE?t=3m15s On the one hand, this should be applauded. Its refreshing to see WWE try to insert internal logic and reasoning, even if its a heel trying to get her way. But the problem is that this is an aberration and we probably wont see this sort of thing happen again for a while.
