5 Wrestlers Who Could Be Adam Cole's Secret AEW Return Opponent
4. Brandon Cutler
No one had Matt Menard in mind for Adam Cole's first opponent back; the same goes for Brandon Cutler. Cutler is an aimless YouTube goober. A good hand backstage he may be, he lacks the presence on-screen to warrant a Dynamite match vs. anyone, let alone Adam Cole.
But it makes sense.
The last thing Cole did prior to his injuries taking their toll was leading Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly in turning on the Young Bucks, disbanding the Undisputed Elite and planning, it appeared, the inaugural World Trios title collision for All Out with a healthy Kenny Omega joining the Bucks. That wasn't the case - but it perhaps was on the table. If the angle was done as a means of writing Adam Cole off programming, then the likelier case is that it would have been the brothers Jackson turning on him, Fish, and O'Reilly. Cole structuring a tactical takedown of his own faction only to disappear for five months reads as WWE's handiwork, not AEW's.
It left a sizeable gap in lore. Picking up where he left off amends, this sets up months of storylines for those involved, and can - if AEW wants to - result in the anticipated Adam Cole vs. Kenny Omega dream match for All Out.
That reads as AEW's work.
