5 WWE Superstars Who Have Struggled & Floundered After Injuries

2. Mr. Kennedy

Mr. Kennedy Poor Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy should still be employed by the WWE today. He was a hand picked main event superstar. He was the future Mr. Kennedy McMahon. A calamity of errors caused Kennedy to slowly flutter away from the organization that made him. Kennedy is the only man to win the MITB and lose that right. That is due to being injury prone (he also was injured in 2005). Regardless of what would have happened later, Kennedy would have won the World Heavyweight Championship if he just didn't get hurt. In May when Undertaker got hurt, the title was his... His injury, which ended up being not so serious, ruined that. Strike One. Kennedy returns, and WWE still sees something big. The fans love shouting Kennedy with him because he's got a microphone and is cool... and I also secretly wanted a microphone to scream my name in. FERRA...RELLA. But sadly, Kennedy was a guy who took pills, to make his body look better, because Vince McMahon likes definition, which is Kennedy's fault...ish. He was busted and suspended. That one was his fault. Never get caught. He made a bad judgement of error (not having prescription) and he paid dearly for it (lost his potential big push, championships, money etc). And due to his error, we received Hornswoggle McMahon for over six months. Thank you Mr. Kennedy (Do NOT ask the WWE to come up with something on the spot, that's when you get Gobbeldy Gookers.) Strike Two To be injury prone is one thing but to be pill popping and injury prone is another. Kennedy floundered about for most of 2007 and 2008. He competed again in MITB, which he lost and was drafted to RAW...to do nothing. He did shoot a movie for WWE Films. His movie started the curse of those who do a starring movie roles for WWE and aren't named John Cena. (How's Ted Dibiase doing?) The last straw was Kennedy's second injury. He was injured in August 2008, right after filming and was sidelined until April 2009. A movie couldn't be properly pushed to the WWE fans if the fans didn't care about the star. No one cared about Kennedy. He bad been gone too much and too long. In May 2009, Kennedy almost injured Randy Orton on Raw. Strike Three, You're Fired. It's one thing to be injury prone. It's another to injure others. Mr. Kennedy is the best example of someone who should have had great success. Without his injuries, Kennedy potentially could be Randy Orton level today. Instead he plays second fiddle to Bubba Ray Dudley on a second rate wrestling program. Whoops!
