1. Alberto del Rio
Yes, that's right - before you knew him as Alberto del Rio, the former WWE champion was getting kicked in the face by Cro-Cop in Pride. Actually, that's kind of cool. del Rio began training as a pro wrestler and made his debut back in 2000 (he wouldn't join the WWE until 2009), but he spent a solid nine years prior to his WWE run, while working in lesser wrestling promotions, fighting in MMA as well. Of course, in MMA he used his real name, Dos Caras Jr. Wait, you mean that's not his real name? That's right, in MMA as well, he was a character. del Rio's real name is of course Alberto Rodriguez. del Rio/Dos Caras Jr. actually fought in a mask in MMA I should add, something the wacky wacky Pride organization allowed, as did Deep, where he got his start. In fact, pro wrestling was considered a "fight style" there. In the MMA realm he would compile a respectable record of 9-5, though his highlight is probably being KO'd by a kick from the legendary Cro-Cop. He does, however, hold seven submission victories to his name. And he broke a guy's arm in his debut. You can watch him defeat former UFC fighter Brad Kohler in Deep below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhfeDUCIQzQ
