50 MMA Fights You Must Watch Before You Die

3. Eddie Alvarez Vs. Michael Chandler 1 - Bellator 58

While Bellator might not be as popular as the UFC, they've had their fair share of incredible fights too. The best bout to ever take place in the promotion was the epic lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and 155lb legend, Eddie Alvarez.

Following a terrific run through Bellator's lightweight tournament, Chandler earned himself a title shot against Alvarez. Despite being a heavy underdog, Chandler surprised the champion and everyone watching when he took the fight to Alvarez early on.

The first two rounds saw Chandler on the attack, dropping the champion repeatedly with devastating punches. With Alvarez badly hurt and on the brink of defeat, it seemed like only a matter of time before Chandler would cause the upset. However, the champion battled back in the third round, bloodying Chandler with crisp, accurate boxing and using fantastic head movement to avoid his opponent's attacks like a matador dodging a bull.

Even though he'd clearly won the third round and momentum was on his side, Alvarez couldn't maintain the same pace. A solid right hand dropped Alvarez again and this time Chandler pounced on him, sinking in a fight-finishing rear naked choke to end an absolute slobber-knocker of a brawl.
