Want to see Vince McMahon’s dream get crapped on by “100,000” fans? Then watch last year’s WrestleMania main event.

Roman Reigns has been Vince’s next big thing for the past couple years, and despite numerous stop-and-start-and-stumble-and start-over pushes, he still keeps trotting Reigns out there. At last year’s Mania, Roman was on a quest to win back the title that Triple H has swiped at the Royal Rumble. Reigns entered at #1, took a powder for half the match but made a “miraculous” comeback, only to get tossed by Helmsley.

Fans weren’t buying Roman as a conquering hero, and with a PPV that ran an hour long (and counting the pre-show, we were entering the seventh hour), they were restless as well. Triple H and Reigns tried for “epic” and we got “aggravating snoozefest” instead. The crowd let Reigns have it. Hardly the coronation you’d want for “The Guy.”

However, it’s worth watching this as a reminder that no matter how strongly Vince has talked about wrestlers winning over the fans and listening to them, there’s always reality.
