Pros:

1. Incredibly athletic

2. Excellent showmanship-oriented gimmick

3. Ripped to shreds

Cons:

1. Decent at promos

2. Serious backstage problems vis-à-vis Melina

3. Could've been much more than what he really was

John Morrison proved that he could work well as both a tag team wrestler and as a singles star. After failing several times as a singles star on RAW, he was put with real-life girlfriend Melina and Joey Mercury as MNM, a Hollywood A-list sort of group. That worked well in getting him established as a solid worker, but it was in the fledgling WWECW brand where he actually proved himself capable.

Changing his name from Nitro to Morrison, John became an even more self-absorbed star (who also took advantage of his resemblance to Jim Morrison) than before. It was during this period that he truly began shedding the 'tag team' image and began looking like a real singles star. His physique and looks certainly helped, and his wrestling ability was impressive, to say the least.

The weird thing was, Morrison was a victim of backstage politics hindering his success. His problems with Melina certainly didn't endear him to the locker room, and at one point, Vince didn't believe that Morrison could win in a real fight. Even though this is a wrestling company, if the boss thinks you aren't tough, that's a death sentence for your main event aspirations.
