Pros:

1. Legendary tag team

2. Arguably the most popular tag team in the company

3. Great chemistry with each other and other teams

Cons:

1. Both of them lost a lot of momentum when they were split up

2. Stuck with lame storylines when reunited

3. Not considered the future of WWE

When WWE first signed the Dudley Boys, the plan was obvious: push these ridiculously popular ECW guys in order to get them to tune into WWE and not WCW. The Dudleys served that purpose well, becoming insanely popular and enjoying considerable fame and success.

Fast forward three years and the Dudleys are lost as a team. Splitting them up was easily the worst decision that could've ever been done, with D-Von being cast as a black reverend and Bubba Ray doing a whole lot of nothing.

By the time they were reunited, they were feuding on again and off again with Eric Bischoff, and when they were traded to SmackDown, they accomplished a whole lot of nothing.

Maybe it was because they were from a different era, or maybe it was because WWE wanted to distance themselves from the 'extreme' image, but the Dudleys were given less and less attention until they were released, never achieving the same degree of success as they did during the Attitude Era, when their popularity was at its highest.
