3. Lilly Tries To Kill Shayna Baszler

Alright, so zombies ate the Miz. So what?

It was obviously a cash-in that you weren’t meant to take seriously. It was some dumb midcard match that didn’t really count. It was just a glorified advert, relax.

Months later, in the main event angle of the obviously canonical Monday Night Raw flagship TV show, a demonically possessed doll attempted to end the life of a wrestler.

The doll, ‘Lilly’, was clutched by Alexa Bliss when WWE’s creative team inadvertently penned a…suboptimal storyline. Basically, after Bliss was seduced by the Fiend character in 2020, she started to adopt the characteristics of a small, albeit spooky child. You’d hope the writers were trying to land on “run-of-the-mill horror trope”, but this instead scanned as “grooming”.

Lilly was purportedly responsible for various evil incidents throughout Alexa’s whole life, even though she was only spooky five years ago. Then again, ‘This Is Your Life’ happened in 2017, so it probably tracks.

Shayna Baszler said the doll was “stupid”, and didn’t believe it was magic or evil or anything. Lilly then stalked and attempted to kill Shayna. A doll. On Raw.

Meanwhile, on the same show, midcard wrestlers just had matches and didn’t sell the fact that they were in a horror movie. Their stuff was a few segments earlier, you see, so it didn’t matter.
