6 Best WWE Extreme Rules PPVs Ever

2. Extreme Rules 2014

Last year’s Extreme Rules was an exciting evening, headlined by a classic dose of hardcore action as Daniel Bryan successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Kane.

There was a rare flaming table spot involving the Big Red Machine, as well as Bryan’s incredible—if somewhat injury-inducing—diving head butt spot from the top of a forklift truck into the ring.

And the rest of the card was very strong as well. The Shield vs. Evolution, naturally, was as excellent as it sounds. The dream match saw the Shield go over after Rollins had earlier launched himself from the top of a balcony. And although the finish was rather convoluted, Wyatt’s victory over Cena was a wise piece of revenge booking after his earlier ‘Mania loss.

Cesaro’s Triple Threat elimination match win over Rob Van Dam and Swagger also delivered. Although Cesaro vs. Swagger showdown would have been a much better option, given the recent double turn of either man. Unfortunately though, this would be about as good as it got for Cesaro…

And while the show featured another comedy bout, it was rather better than any Hogpen or Whipping shenanigans—I am of course talking about WeeLC, which was vastly more entertaining than anyone could have imagined.
