The defending Diva's champion Nikki Bella, who won the title last year at Survivor Series, came into this contest without her champion's advantage as she faced off against Paige and Naomi under Triple Threat rules. Naomi and Nikki have had a rivalry over the past few months with Paige re-appearing to take revenge on Naomi while pursuing the Diva's gold. With the women in NXT regularly submitting match of the year level contests, these three women went all out with some creative spots to entertain us all. While the decision to not crown Naomi as champion despite her electric heel charisma and highlight reel move set is questionable, WWE seems to want to start letting Nikki Bella's reign continue toward historic levels to quickly eclipse a certain recently retired diva who shall not be named.
