6 Major Booking Mistakes WWE Made At No Mercy

3. Bayley Eating The Pin

Although this felt like another false dawn for Nia Jax, who is in danger of becoming the Bray Wyatt of the RAW women’s roster, WWE got the winner of this match absolutely right.

With Asuka debuting at TLC on 22 October - as confirmed at No Mercy - another title change before the 'Empress of Tomorrow' takes her place atop the division would have created unnecessary chaos. The focus ahead should be on Asuka versus Alexa Bliss.

What WWE did get wrong was having Bayley eat the pin at the hands of the champion, less than a week after her return from a shoulder injury which sidelined her for two months.

This was a chance for Bayley to start afresh, having been badly mismanaged by WWE since her promotion to the main roster from NXT, where she was beloved by the entire fanbase. But WWE have picked up where they left off, having her pinned in her first match back.

It would have been better for Emma or Sasha Banks to have had their shoulders to the mat. Any damage done to Banks would be outweighed by her hotly-anticipated heel turn when she eventually backstabs Bayley, who is badly in need of momentum before that feud.
