The absolute state of that teased Universal Championship Match at Royal Rumble.

For reasons that make no sense whatsoever, there is no separating Braun Strowman - a horror movie baddie in whom you can actually suspend disbelief, and Kane - a horror movie baddie who only terrifies through his tedious overexposure and his existing as a symbol for the complete lack of imagination coursing through WWE. So, as more or less confirmed on RAW this week, the two Monsters will face off against the Beast - SEO trots, in comparison to the genuinely brilliant Monster Mash that was the SummerSlam main event.

Even more nonsensical is Vince McMahon's alleged refusal to book Beast Vs. Demon - even though it fulfils his hollow marketing remit - because Finn Bálor isn't over enough for the fandom to accept him as a threat...

...even though Kane's role as designated January jobber is searingly obvious.

McMahon worked himself into a shoot here, because he himself buried Bálor to get Kane over to consequently get Braun Strowman over. Strowman was already over. Kane, after all this absolute tripe, is not.

So, this essentially is a match between a guy can't lose, another guy who can't lose, and the clearest loser since that first guy come WrestleMania 34. And who is the guy talented enough, with a hugely-protected alter-ego, to render the result even slightly doubtful? Who could also benefit from a carefully-worked loss, à la AJ Styles at Survivor Series '17?

Finn. F*CKING. Bálor.
