6 Predictions For NXT TakeOver: San Antonio
5. Tye Dillinger Falls To Sanity's Superior Numbers
Shinsuke Nakamura aside, Tye Dillinger is the most popular man in NXT. His Perfect 10 gimmick has seen NXT crowds gradually turn Tye from an arrogant showman to an underdog babyface, and nobody’s more over than him at the moment. “10” chants regularly fill WWE arenas across the country, even on main roster shows, and it’ll be a major disappointment if he doesn’t show up in the #10 spot during the Royal Rumble.
He faces off against Eric Young on Saturday night, and winning might prove a tall task. Young’s Sanity stable have run amok since arriving in NXT, and the loss of Sawyer Fulton hasn’t quelled their uprising. Young found the perfect replacement in Killian Dain (the former Big Damo), who represents an upgrade in every conceivable way, and their rampage continues.
This might be a one on one match, but Young won’t be coming alone. Dain and Alexander Wolfe will surely accompany their leader to the ring, and if recent weeks are anything to go by, they’re going to make their presence felt. Losing here won’t be the end of the world for Tye, however: outside interference will protect him, and falling to Sanity will give him the all-clear to finally escape developmental and make that much anticipated Royal Rumble debut.
