6 Reasons The End Of The Authority Needs To Be The End Of Authority In WWE
Authority figures have been run into the ground, need to be run out of town.
This weekend is the 2014 Survivor Series, and as it's been driven into our head time and again, the stakes couldn't be higher for Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, aka The Authority. If their team loses at the pay per view event, then they're supposedly out of power (one would assume they'd still hold high-ranking positions in WWE, just not ones that involve sticking their nose into the business of everyone on the roster several times a week). While nothing is certain, it seems that the odds of The Authority getting the boot are fairly decent. There have been rumors that Stephanie McMahon herself is pregnant, or at the very least wants to spend more time with her family and attend to other parts of the company's business, making the end of The Authority a good cover story for why she would no longer be around. Additionally, WWE is hurting at the moment, trying to drive up buy rates for the WWE Network with a free month throughout November (if you're a new customer and in the U.S., that is-- they're apparently not so desperate as to offer that anywhere else, despite never shutting up about it no matter where you reside), including the Survivor Series pay-per-view itself. And if they really want to hook people, they need something big to happen there, making the dissolution of The Authority seem just a bit more likely. Frankly, we're pulling for it. In fact, we hope that the 2014 Survivor Series not only marks the end of The Authority, but virtually ALL authority roles in World Wrestling Entertainment. At least, those seen on-screen, and at least for a little while. Following are our reasons why.
