6 Reasons John Cena Will Retire From WWE Within 5 Years

5. He Has Done Everything He Can Do

Here's a simple question: What's there for Cena to accomplish that he hasn't done already? He's done it all. He's a 15 time WWE Champion, which is the most number of title reigns in WWE history. Ric Flair has 16 World Titles to his name, but only a couple of those were in WWE and several others were really short reigns. Cena's going to pass Flair's number because WWE wants to say he's the greatest World Champion in the history of the business. They've already pushed that idea a bit already, so once it hits 17 WWE Title reigns it's going to be even more significant. In addition to winning titles, the more important thing for any WWE wrestler is to headline WrestleMania. Cena's competed in the last match at WrestleMania five times during his 11 appearances. He's walked in as a champion and walked out as a champion. He's walked in as a challenger that ended up a champion. He's done it all. The only big matches at WrestleMania that Cena really has left to do are against names like The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin. Now that Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is over the appeal isn't there for him. Hogan might want to have the match, but he's not in great shape. Austin hasn't wrestled in 11 years and if he does come back it would probably be against a heel. There's nothing left for Cena to do in 2014 except do the same kind of matches against the same group of people. By the time we get to 2019 there will be even less for him to do, which would give him another reason to want to retire.
