6 Reasons John Cena Will Retire From WWE Within 5 Years

1. His Acting Career Could Draw Him Away From Wrestling

When Cena feuded with The Rock from 2011 to 2013 one of the main points that Cena mentioned in the feud was that he was there every week for over a decade while The Rock left because he had success in Hollywood. When Rock came back to WWE to wrestle five matches during that period, Cena talked trash against him by exploiting the fact that Rock wasn't around very much and there were many instances where "via satellite" was the only way that fans got to see Rock on Raw. It's not like WWE wanted people to hate The Rock. It's just that they wanted the fans to like Cena more because he was the guy that was there week after week, month after month and year after year unlike Rock. In some ways it worked because fans realized just how hard working Cena was, but people have always liked The Rock because of his star power. During the feud, Cena spoke about how he would never leave WWE. It was his life. Maybe he's right, but things change. Over the past few months, Cena's missed a handful of Monday Night Raw episodes and has been off live events for most of the summer. That's because he's been filming two comedy films called Trainwreck and The Nest that are mainstream comedy films. They're bigger than the typical WWE Films production that are straight to DVD releases. Now that Cena is taking part in mainstream films, his career could take off. Cena will likely take on more acting roles in the coming years. It would be foolish not to do it because he can make great money doing it without taking bumps on a regular basis. The acting bug got The Rock. It looks like Dave Batista has it too. Over the next five years, don't be surprised if it gets John Cena too.
