Whilst many (myself included) can see the negative sides of this, it is nonetheless clear to see that NXT has been assisted in its rise to its current level by the comfort afforded to it by its location.

By taking place at Full Sail University most weeks, NXT has created a home advantage atmosphere, where regular attendees can support and vocalise the shows without having to constantly be brought up to speed.

Years ago TNA was in a similar situation, albeit with less positive results. TNA's Impact broadcast was taped almost solely at Universal Studios in Florida.

This gave the show a consistency in look and atmosphere, kept production costs steady and provided Impact with something of an identity. TNA eventually took the show on the road, with mixed results.

In truth, the only similarity here stems from the constant location, as opposed to the folk attending. NXT is attended by wrestling fans on the whole, whereas many TNA shows seemed to be attended by folk who just happened to be in the vicinity of Universal Studios at the time.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
