6 Ups & 1 Down For AEW Collision (Feb 3 - Results & Review)

1. Another Excellent Main Event, This Time With TNT Title Implications

Any match involving FTR and Christian Cage is always likely to be good. Throw in the technical prowess of the ever-impressing Daniel Garcia, the high-flying Nick Wayne who's become so much more since turning heel, and the solid powerhouse schtick of Killswitch, and you've got quite the foundation to work with.

FTR & Garcia vs. The Patriarchy was a whole bunch of fun, as expected.

Yes, the in-ring fundamentals were on point, but there were also certain story threads going through this to elevate the audience investment. Of course, FTR are known to be close friends of Adam Copeland, which then adds a more personal level of disdain towards Dax Wilder and Cash Wheeler from Christian Cage. Then there's the battle between two young stars fighting to be the stars of tomorrow, Daniel Garcia and Nick Wayne. And speaking of Copeland and Garcia, the post-match suggests Red Death is now eyeing the same TNT Championship that the Rated-R Superstar has made his mission to reclaim.

All in all, this was yet another great Collision main event; Saturdays having long developed a habit of crafting main events that vary from good, to great, to Match of the Year contenders.

Again, there'll be no play-by-play rundown here due to the sheer energy of the match - plus the fact your writer was due to finish up for the day 45 minutes ago... - but one notable spot saw Nick Wayne break up a Dax sharpshooter (on Cage) with a beautifully timed Wayne's World. However, by the time all was said and done, it was Wayne who ate the loss here, with Garcia trapping him with a jacknife pinning combination, before DG eyeballed Christian Cage and that TNT Title.
