6 Ups & 1 Down From WWE SmackDown (July 29)

Down...

1. Missed Their Shot At Progress

Shotzi Aliyah

First, the only negative.

WWE could've capitalised on Lacey Evans being pulled from yet another segment opposite Aliyah by doing something refreshing with the bubbly babyface. Instead, they drafted Shotzi in from the cold to work a nothing three-minute match with her that barely got going before it was over.

Honestly, what was the point of this? It was perhaps the only match on the entire two-hour show that was totally useless - the workers can't really be blamed for that. WWE has given fans zero reason to care about either character, and it's hardly like three minutes was ever going to be enough for them to tell a story.

Having Shotzi win only to get destroyed by a rampaging Ronda Rousey mere minutes later was also totally avoidable. These two women have been completely ignored, and they badly (oh so badly) need some actual character development soon.
