WWE came into Monday night with two major objectives for Raw: have The Vision explain their actions from last week, and determine the future of the World Heavyweight Championship.

They did both, but WWE managed to stumble through both of these main goals, with the explanation more or less consisting of “Seth Rollins is a bum whose shoulder gave out and his time has passed,” and the world title picture coming into focus so rapidly that fans won’t have much time to really bask in it.

The decision to hold a battle royal to determine one of the title match participants was – as Raw GM Adam Pearce noted – an old-school idea. But the battle royal was a collection of guys who stood no chance and just two potential serious finalists to face CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The compressed schedule means we crown a new champ in less than two weeks.

Still, Raw managed to land the plane in a variety of areas, with good wrestling, new tag champs, and some great heel cheating from Dominik Mysterio.

And although we have a World Heavyweight Championship match coming up between two (as of right now) babyfaces in less than two weeks, WWE managed to sow some seeds of doubt, with Jey Uso starting to go down a dark path.

Let’s get to it…
