6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 4)

Downs...

2. Gunn Club vs. Serpentico and Aaron Solow

Gunn Club
AEW

This was somehow Gunn Club's first match since January. An odd situation, as Billy and Austin Gunn have been hooting and hollering at ringside pretty much every week since the global health crisis began, though father has been a tad more active than junior. He recently wrestled MJF on Dynamite while Austin watched on. Injured, perhaps?

Either way, this was a nothing match with solid action but no real highlights. Lacking in personality and adrenaline spikes, it saw Serpentico struggle with Billy's size early on before he and Solow took control of Austin, who sold for them both. Billy got back in later on and cleaned house, launching both jobbers out of the ring, before Austin hit a Fame Asser on Solow, then a modified hip toss (?!) on Serp for the 1-2-3.

AEW's lack of continuity with Serpentico must be pointed out here, as it appears the promotion has forgotten about his alliance with Luther. What happened there? Solow is a better wrestler than 'The Original Death Dealer,' admittedly, but ignoring the existing relationship is weird.
