6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 4)

Ups...

6. QT Marshall vs. Jack Evans

Jack Evans QT Marshall
AEW

QT Marshall is a clunky wrestler but carryable when placed opposite a more skilled and experienced working, as was the case when he met the returning Jack Evans last night. This was a solid singles bout with a few rough edges but enough positive story and character work to nudge it over to the positive side of the ledger.

Allie was extremely vocal on the sidelines, shouting encouragement at Marshall following his every move, while Evans' second, Angelico, was equally influential on the other side of the ring. The South African's interjection scored his TH2 partner the pinfall after he booted Marshall while Allie accidentally distracted the referee, facilitating Jack's bridged pin.

Evans and Angelico will likely meet The Natural Nightmares next week, as Dustin Rhodes made the save on their post-match beatdown. The one-on-one was a functional bridge to that. A supplemental Up for Evans, too: his snottiness remains glorious.
