6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Jul 14)

Downs...

2. Luther and Serpentico vs. Brady Pierce and Pineapple Pete

Luther Serpentico
AEW

Serpentico looked great against Scorpio Sky in last week's Dark main event, so it's nice to see him enjoying a continued B-show spotlight, though his and Luther's match with Brady Pierce and Pineapple Pete was entirely skippable.

This was the textbook Dark pseudo squash layout without enough character or hot action to compensate for the repetition. It doesn't help that the Serpentico/Luther alliance came out of nowhere a few weeks ago or that the 'Original Death Dealer' is hampered by one of the goofiest, most cringe-worthy gimmicks in wrestling either. The veteran's wackiness is an immersion-breaker every single time.

Luther ended up winning the fall after the duo nailed Pierce with what looked like a Meteora/Spinebuster combination. Serpentico's streamers were the most exciting part of this, sadly.
