6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dark (Jul 14)

4. Robert Anthony vs. Ricky Starks

Rick Starks
AEW

Ricky Starks' win over Robert Anthony was a textbook Dark match in many ways, though it didn't overstay its welcome, with Starks getting the job done in just under five minutes. Fine in and of itself, though the Taz teases elevate it.

Ricky paid tribute to the ECW legend on his way to the ring, motioning towards the announce booth, and went one step further on his way out. Starks walked across the stage, bumped fists with Taz, and made his exit, suggesting, once again, that the duo could soon link up in a formal partnership.

Taz has quickly become one of the best managers (and talkers) in the game since spreading his wings beyond the announce booth. He has been great alongside Brian Cage and should be similarly effective for somebody like Starks, who looks set to become a fixture going forward.
