6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: New Year's Smash

Downs...

2. What Happened To FTR?

Andrade El Idolo
AEW

Well, it looks like Andrade El Idolo is Darby Allin's next rival. The handsome devil came out to distract Darby and Sting following Allin's match with Anthony Bowens; that led to The Acclaimed jumping the good guys as Andrade grinned on the ramp.

Erm...what happened to Darby and Sting feuding with FTR?

AEW must've scrapped that already and decided to move on, which is fair enough but rather annoying. Though El Idolo vs. Darby will be fun, it does feel like the feud is already stepping on the toes of an unfinished story. All Elite didn't exactly wrap up Tully Blanchard rekindling old gripes with Sting, did they?

This is something the company must be mindful of. They can't just drop angles cold without wrapping them up and expect fans who are paying close attention to be happy about it. Every storyline deserves closure. There are no exceptions.
