6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage: New Year's Smash

1. Arn Anderson’s Promo

This was weird, because Arn has always been solid (if unspectacular) on the mic.

Sadly, before the headline TNT Title bout, ol' Arn said a whole load of nothing and even seemed to make an arse of a few points he was trying to make. Whilst Dan Lambert's motormouth promo was cutting and dripping with heel arrogance, Anderson's was meandering.

It actually sounded quite weak in response. Imagine hearing your dad tear down the school bully by tripping over his words and kind of/sort of/almost implying that you're happy to run away from a fight. That probably wasn't intentional, but it's how Arn's delivery made things sound on Friday.

Maybe he's just a bit confused by Cody Rhodes' current tweener alignment. If so, that's understandable, but he should've attacked this promo directly instead of skirting round the fact that some folks like Cody and others don't. Hmm. This wasn't good.
