6 Ups & 2 Downs From Before The Impact (Feb 16)

Before The Impact, Impact Wrestling's new weekly show, kicks off to great success.

The first installment of Impact Wrestling's new weekly show, Before The Impact, was a resounding success.

Hosted by Jon Burton, Josh Mathews, and Gia Miller, the show will air every Tuesday, one hour before Impact Wrestling hits the screen. If there's one thing the company needed, it was a second weekly show like this. While Xplosion is still producing one match a week, it isn't anywhere near as important as it once was. No-one's going to tune in specifically for Mahabali Shera vs. Fallah Bahh.

BTI, however, has the potential to become a massive part of Impact's output. Burton, Mathews, and Miller work together perfectly, there are weekly skits to look forward to - even if two out of the three aren't quite what they should be just yet - and the exclusive matches could be good. Last night's bonus encounter between XXXL and Decay was alright, for example. It didn't need to be on the main Impact programming, so it slotted perfectly into Before The Impact.

There's room for improvement, of course, as there always is with new business ventures. For what they've produced so far, though, Impact are on to something with BTI. Let's get to it...
