At what point does it stop being unfair to say that Dana Brooke isn't very good at all? After all, despite regularly outshining the main roster in almost every regard, NXT is still where stars are supposed to be made not just showcased. It's a development system and Dana is doing precisely that, developing. It's just that she's really not doing it fast enough and it's frustrating. She's doing ok enough in the ring. She's still a little clumsy and her moves have that stop-start momentum of someone trying to remember each next move as it comes rather than a single seamless flow, but she's not dreadful by any stretch. What's she's terrible at, and what NXT really needs to have her not do anymore, is talk. She's just reciting lines out there, muddling up the cadences, slurring the words together. Performances like last night, where she failed to muster convincing fury against Asuka, actively hurt her character and may turn the audience off of her entirely. It's at this stage NXT need to follow the old adage, "accent the positives, and hide the negatives". Taking the microphone away from Dana would be a good start.
