6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE Bash In Berlin (Results & Review)
1. Spot, Spot, Sloppy Spot, Missed Spot, Spot…
Jade Cargill radiates megastar. She has the look and charisma of a main-eventer, and she has made strides in the ring in just three short years as a wrestler.
But there is an air of worry when Jade gets into these big matches and the moments within. She has a history of mistiming spots or looking out of sync, thus taking the viewer out of the moment. It’s happened on multiple occasions during this WWE run, and it belies the hype surrounding her when WWE signed Cargill and sent her to the Performance Center – in Triple H’s words – so she was ready for the big stage, because she was limited when she came from AEW.
The Bash in Berlin women’s tag title match wasn’t a terrible match, but it progressed like a decently acted play rather than an organic fight. Jade’s portions were mostly limited to a hot tag and a series of double-team moves. Nothing was horribly botched, but there were a couple of sloppy moments or times when you could “see the wires,” with Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn getting into position for the next sequence to bounce off Cargill.
And then there was Jade missing her spot to pull Bianca Belair out of the way of a Fyre senton, with the EST having to start her roll before Cargill grabbed her.
This isn’t meant to suggest Jade isn’t a huge star or has immense potential, but WWE is putting her in situations where she’s not quite meeting the moment, and it’s not doing her any favors.
