6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 17)

Downs...

2. Steel Cage Or Tables?

New Day Cesaro Shinsuke Nakamura

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura tried to blast Kofi Kingston through a table two weeks ago. Then, last week, they smashed both Big E and his New Day pal through the wood. So, why were Michael Cole and Corey Graves collectively wondering which stipulation the heels would pick for Extreme Rules?

That Steel Cage thing was a tad random.

The announcers looked thick when they continued weighing up the pros and cons of each gimmick as both teams tried to put one another through a table. Hmm - wonder which one Cesaro and Shin will choose, eh? This cage stuff was an unnecessary add-on, and it didn't fit the story at all.

It's like WWE suddenly panicked and felt the need to put something on the line for the Cesaro vs. Big E match when they really didn't need to. This was a last-minute speed bump on the road for a feud that, up until now, has been straightforward.
