6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 12)
5. Braun Strowman's Straightforward Promo
Straightforward booking x2.
Braun Strowman wasn't asked to act exasperated when commenting on other angles, like he was on the Jeff Hardy situation several weeks ago, and he didn't go bratty child because things didn't go his way and somebody played a prank (that wouldn't make the grade with Swerved's producers) on him.
Instead, WWE put a camera in front of the guy, had the person filming it look up at his massive frame to sell his size and had him promise to destroy everything in his path. No frills, no comedy and no goofy behaviour - just Braun saying he was going to smash things in an easily-digestible 45-60 second promo.
This is how the Universal Champion should be used. Hopefully, once his absolutely useless handicap match against The Miz and John Morrison at Backlash is out of the way, WWE can get back to doing right by Braun and giving him more content like this that actually suits his gimmick.
