6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (June 19)

4. The Passion Of Mandy & Sonya

Over time, perhaps Nikki Cross can develop into someone akin to Sonya Deville or Mandy Rose. Both have managed to totally flip their careers around. The warring best friends (who were doing exactly nothing worthwhile before splitting) are owning it these days.

Their duelling promo work is full of fire, and the material is surprisingly strong. The pair are clearly into the idea of making it work too. Their zest for cutting one another down never strays too far from core ideals (Mandy was never the vacant blonde model bitch Sonya thought and Deville hated standing in Mandy's shadow), which is also nice to see.

These gals are a weekly 'Up' whenever they're on the show.

The Miz and John Morrison were unnecessary, to be fair. This segment could've happened without their involvement, although it does look like the team are heading for a mini-program with Heavy Machinery. So long as WWE don't shove Sonya with the 'Dirt Sheet' crew just for the sake of it, then that'll be fine.
