6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 24)

Downs...

2. Thanks For Coming, Charlotte?

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair said a whole load of nothing during her promo.

The reigning SmackDown Women's Champion also came across as an insincere babyface again, and totally failed to sell her bout with Rhea Ripley as a credible night one WrestleMania headliner. Seriously, WWE better not put Flair vs. Rhea in that spot - they're asking for trouble if they do.

There's a quite-stunning lack of interest in the match. Being brutally honest, WWE has done a rubbish job of presenting it as worthy of 'Mania at all. Ripley won January's Royal Rumble, for crying out loud. Surely creative had bigger things in mind for a feud with Flair than this?!

It's unclear what WWE wanted Charlotte to achieve by going out and rambling about nepotism. Her comments and painted-on smile combined to act as heel 101, which is the total opposite of what she's supposed to be these days.
