6 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 12)

Ups...

6. Cameron Grimes > Baron Corbin

It's fascinating that the same people complaining about Baron Corbin's matches are also whining about Cameron Grimes beating him in six seconds. What do those folks want? This was a strong start for Grimes on WWE's main roster, and could (theoretically) snowball Baron back towards his 'Bum Ass' gimmick.

That's win-win.

WWE didn't give that persona enough time in the oven anyway, and it's not like Corbs has anything else to do on SmackDown. Becoming an unlikely sympathetic babyface could work for him, and it's smart to use him as a launching pad for Cameron in the interim. Fingers crossed there's more to come from this feud.

Anyone who watched Grimes on NXT already knows he's ridiculously entertaining, so he'll click with casual viewers soon. Booking this squash over an established name like Baron will only help him. If that brings back sad, down-on-his-luck Corbin too, then even better.
