3. Why Are We Still Doing Such Frequent Title Eliminators?

AEW Collision Toni Storm
AEW

With AEW bringing back the rankings, forgetting about them almost immediately, then putting emphasis on them once more, one has to question why we still have to have such frequent Title Eliminator matches.

This time out, it was the turn of the AEW Women's Title to find itself in the Eliminator stakes. Should AZM defeat Toni Storm, she'd earn a shot at Timeless Toni's Women's Championship - despite the current top rankings for that prize being, from #1 through #5, Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, Serena Deeb, Mariah May, and Deonna Purrazzo.

Added to that, AZM had never wrestled for AEW and her first match for the promotion was one that granted her the chance of a Women's Title match. From a kayfabe sense, this makes zero sense if you're one of the other women on the roster.

This isn't to say that Title Eliminators can't be used from time to time, but less is more. After all, this came on the very same night that Rocky Romero was involved in an International Championship Title Eliminator bout at Battle of the Belts, and just three days removed from Dustin Rhodes having an AEW World Championship Title Eliminator on Dynamite.
