6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Feb 9)

2. The Acclaimed's Sleepy Bars

The Acclaimed's latest diss track was a parody of Le Dinner Debonair, which is a nice idea, given they're facing MJF and Chris Jericho on tonight's episode of Dynamite. A sample of Me and My Shadow was even interpolated into the beat in a particularly sick touch.

Unfortunately, that's where the highs end.

Your mileage almost certainly varies on these things, but this was another Acclaimed video that was about half as funny as it should have been. The barbs just aren't sharp enough to leave their targets red-faced and agitated, the delivery wasn't there, and the ring-a-ding-ding refrain was an annoyance. Not in a good heel heat kinda way, either: in an "I'm hitting mute now" kinda way.

This can be a money gimmick: the bars just need to be wittier and harder. At the moment, it feels like a cut-price John Cena bit.
