6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dark (Oct 29)

4. Rhodes & Kiss Prevail

Last week's From Undesirable to Undeniable highlighted AEW producer QT Marshall and his journey back to the squared circle after his Ring Of Honor disappointment. Last night's Dark delivered his in-ring debut as he teamed with Peter Avalon to face Dustin Rhodes and Sonny Kiss, and it was a good little tag bout.

The announcers played on Kiss and Dustin's immediate chemistry. A character-fuelled opening stretch saw 'The Concrete Rose' pick Avalon apart with one of 'The Librarian's' book in hand, before QT ate a hard right hand for trying to do the Goldust taunt in Rhodes' face. A traditional face-in-peril/hot tag layout unfolded thereafter, with Kiss absorbing a prolonged control segment from the heels before Dustin hit the ring to a big pop, eventually pinning Avalon for the 1, 2, 3.

With the outcome exactly what it should have been, the action fun, and AEW's sentimental favourite helping the awesome Kiss get over, this worked.
